On Monday October 26, students interested in pursuing a career in science from Wallenpaupack, Pocono Mountain East, Stroudsburg, and Scranton attended Sanofi’s Biomedical program at Geisinger’s School of Medicine. This program allows students to go to the school once a month and study different biomedical topics. Throughout the program, students work on studying a topic of their own to eventually create a poster displaying everything they learned. Last year, the students studied lung conditions and the socioeconomic reasons behind them. This year students will be studying how genetics play into the creation of vaccines and different specialized medications. This program runs throughout the school year to give each student an opportunity to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom.
