Addison Bogarowski, a junior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, was selected as the Paupack Press’s Junior of The Week for her involvement in lacrosse. Originally drawn to lacrosse because of its uniqueness and lack of popularity in the area, Addison has taken advantage of opportunities outside of school to stay involved and grow as a player.
Through club teams, camps, and other opportunities, Addison has made new friends while developing her skills. One of her favorite memories was attending two professional lacrosse camps in New Jersey, where she met talented players, experienced coaches, and other athletes who share her passion for the sport.
Lacrosse has also helped Addison grow both on and off the field. She explained that the sport has taught her how to become a better team player while building her confidence as an individual. The encouragement and support she has received from others have made her experience especially memorable.
Among her proudest achievements is receiving the Rookie of the Year award from Wallenpaupack Youth Lacrosse. She has also continued to improve her abilities and earn opportunities to play on different travel teams.
Overall, Addison’s enthusiasm and willingness to explore opportunities beyond school demonstrate her dedication to a sport she loves, and lacrosse has become a major part of her life.
