Ivy Yetter

The people need art. Ivy Yetter, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, knows that with all her heart. Ivy Yetter has been a part of the Wallenpaupack Area School District since kindergarten, where she grew up with the community and her peers as an individual. Ivy has always been known for her persistence, her empathy, and her passion for everything in which she is involved. Ivy holds everything that she is involved with close to her heart, and when she loves something very dearly, she continues to work for it and is determined to succeed.

Her positive attitude is shown throughout all her extracurricular activities that she has been in high school. Ivy has been a part of the WAHS Players for four years, where she has gotten the opportunity to act and sing as a variety of characters, making many memories on stage. She has also been involved with Choir, Chamber Choir, Show Choir, District Choir, and band all year round. During the fall, Ivy plays in the marching band. Part taking in these clubs taught Ivy how to be more resilient and caring, as she put time and dedication into the arts. “Having a community in high school is so important,” Ivy said.

Ivy plans to go to Lebanon Valley College, where she will major in environmental science. She will continue to do what she loves most during college and will still be involved with the theatre and the choir during her four years. After she finishes schooling, Ivy wants a career as either a zookeeper or work in an animal rehabilitation center.

Ivy has many favorite memories of theatre, choir, and band from throughout high school. She favors those moments due to the people and the experiences she received from those crafts. “They made me the person I am today,” Ivy said when asked why those memories were her favorite.

The one person she would like to thank is Mrs. Hoffmann. Mrs. Hoffmann taught Ivy how to be more confident in herself and taught her many skills that she will use in the future. “She is truly an inspiration to me and others, and I could not have gotten through high school without her guidance.” Ivy states. Wallenpaupack wishes the best of luck to The Witch, Ivy Yetter.
