Excitement for homecoming filled the halls of Wallenpaupack throughout this previous week as students eagerly awaited the announcement of our 2026 homecoming royalty. On October 16, during the homecoming game, the wait came to an end as June Brown was crowned queen, and Kody Hanor was named king.
June Brown was escorted by her father, Bruce Brown. June has been a part of the childcare CTE (Career and Technical Education) for three years. She has been a qualifier for the silver honor award at scholar night. June has been on the cross country and track and field team for six years. Throughout her running career, she has been an all-region, first and second team All Star, and was All State sophomore and junior year in the 800. June plans to attend Saint Jospeh’s University to major in early childhood and special education to become a kindergarten teacher. She will also be competing at the division one level for their track and field team. June’s biggest goal in her future is to become a track and field coach.
“I’m super excited that I’m the homecoming queen! It’s a honor truly. To think people voted for me and saw me as someone who stood out in the whole 2027 class makes me so happy. I’m truly so grateful for this…Thank you!”
Kody Hanor was escorted by his mother, Kendra Hanor, and his sister McKenna Hanor. He has been involved in the state, region, and local chapters of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) for three years and has been a two-time state and one-time national qualifier. Additionally, he has won a Scholastic Art Award and is a Gold Key recipient. He’s been a part of the student ambassadors for two years and now is the Social Media Manager for the Executive Student Council. Kody has been a part of the National Junior and National Honor Society for five years and has run track and field for four years. Kody plans to pursue a four-year college degree, majoring in business and marketing.
“To me, it means so much. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent my school and be recognized by my peers to do so. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my friends, family, and teachers. I’m also, as always, extremely proud to be part of such an amazing school community.”
