Santa’s Workshop just finished its’ 20th anniversary. On Friday, December 12, the Volunteers in Paupack set up its yearly Santa’s Workshop in the library, an event where students can come in and grab gifts for their families if money is rough. The workshop originally began when a guidance secretary, Ann Lucier, started to bring in items for the children who needed a helping hand during the holiday season. When Mrs. Lucier retired, Mrs. Mitschele and Mrs. Regenski took over organizing. As the tradition grew, more families from the community started to donate toys, necessities, and other items to the workshop to try and fit all families’ needs for the holidays. This year, more than 500 students went to the workshop and gave items to their families. The students are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank everyone involved for helping their needs for the holiday season.
