As the 25/26 school year comes to an end, we will be saying goodbye to some of our favorite members of the middle school staff. Mrs. Kromko, Mr. Schmitt, and Mrs. Troop will all say farewell in June. Thank you for all that you do and for all the work you put into making the school a better place!
Mrs. Kromko, our (middle school) head custodian, has been dedicated to our school since 1999. She first began working nights because it worked best for her family, and she never had to miss her sons’ concerts or ball games. When she was younger, she always wanted to operate a crane, and she was able to do that when she set upunits of geothermal energy installations on the roof. A piece of advice she wants to give us to find success is to stay positive in every situation, and to keep learning every day of your life. She is looking forward to time with her family, kayaking, and seeing the beauty that God created in the world. Thank you, Mrs. Kromko!
Mr. Schmitt, our technology coordinator, has known that he wanted to work in a school since he was young. The inspiration given to him by his physics teacher sealed the deal for him to become an educator. He loves to see his former students at graduation. When they share with him where life has taken them, it reminds him of just how much his work matters. His biggest piece of advice is regardless of the task, whether you’re excited about it or not, do it to the best of your ability. If you only do your best when you’re interested, you’ll only be successful occasionally. He is looking forward to reading for enjoyment, traveling, and completing unfinished projects around the house. Thank you, Mr. Schmitt!
Mrs. Troop, a 7th grade ELA teacher, originally began working at Highlights Magazine. In 2001, she began her teaching career. One of the most memorable moments while working at Wallenpaupack for her was when COVID shut everything down on March 13, 2020. A piece of advice she wants to give us is to show grace to others, and to not follow the crowd just because everyone else is. During retirement, she is looking forward to having her morning coffee, reading books for fun, and traveling with family members. Thank you, Mrs. Troop!
Thank you all for your dedication over the years. We will miss you, but we hope you enjoy your retirement!
