On Thursday May 14, the varsity softball team took on against Scranton Prep and were able to win by a score of 16-0. Paupack was able to complete this game in just three innings by putting the run rule into effect. Anna Babyak was a standout in the circle and allowed zero hits and collected six strikeouts. In total, Paupack collected 13 hits
On Saturday, May 16, the varsity team traveled to the University of Scranton field to take on West Scranton. Paupack took the win by a score of 8-3. This was a huge game for Paupack as the last time they faced them, Paupack lost by a score of 4-3. Anna Babyak was in the circle for the team and collected 14 strikeouts and holding West Scranton to just five hits. This win brought Paupack to the #3 in the district standings and set them up to face the #6 seed, Berwick.
On Monday, May 17, the varsity team faced Berwick and came out on top by a score of 4-1. During this game, freshman Anna Babyak reached a career milestone of 100 strikeouts. This is an incredible feat at any level in high school, but Anna is the only player in Paupack softball history to reach this as a freshman. In total, Anna had 112 strikeouts on the season so far.
On Wednesday, May 20, the varsity team faced Valley View, their second game in districts after defeating Berwick and took a loss by a score of 11-0.
For JV, their game on Monday May 11th against Valley View was cancelled. Despite this, the JV team had an undefeated season with a record of 9-0. This is a huge accomplishment for the team as their hard work and dedication throughout the season shined.
