Student Council travels to Wyoming Valley West for Region H

By Bethany Day

On Friday, April 17, the executive student council and the class officers traveled to Wyoming Valley West High School for the yearly Student Council PASC, Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils, Regional H Conference. A different school holds the event each year and gives students the opportunity to make new friends and learn more about how different the school’s atmospheres are, and how to spread leadership and new skills. During the conference, many officers host workshops, where they talk about their school and what skills they use to help the environment. The officers also help the process of learning different activities for the students to bring back to their school.

This year, Wallenpaupack had the opportunity to have its own workshop, which was led by Emma Waszcak and Madelyn Carter. The ladies’ workshop was about communication, and how important it is for the council to know how to communicate with not just each other, but with their school. The Wallenpaupack officers learned many new objectives and skills while at the event, and plan to bring it back to the Wallenpaupack grounds to help improve the school spirit and environment.
