This week, Ryan Vargo broke the long-standing discus record of 21 years. The old record of 169 feet 11 inches was set in 2005 by Justin Kraft. The new record is 173 feet 4 inches. Ryan has been throwing for the track and field team since he was in seventh grade and is very proud that all of that hard work finally paid off. His teammates and the rest of the school are excited to see what he will accomplish in the rest of his track and field career.
