The Zipper Junction Toy Drive is a hyper local toy donation program facilitated through the Zipper Junction Project. Hosted across both Wayne and Pike Counties, donations to this toy drive are given to children within families who are less fortunate enrolled in local schools including Western Wayne, Wayne Highlands, and Wallenpaupack Area School Districts. Jim Zumpone runs the toy drive, and the program is kept alive with more than 80 volunteers ranging from teenagers to retirees. For anyone looking to donate, there are more than 300 toy drive boxes located across Wayne and Pike counties; exact locations as well as instructions on how to donate can be found on https://zipperjunction.org/.

Caelin Kooistra, a volunteer for this toy drive, said that this program is “to direct the generosity of the greater Wayne/Pike community towards the dream of every child having a joyous holiday season.” Donations are being accepted from late October to the end of November, and the donation boxes will begin getting picked up on December 1. If you are looking to share some holiday joy and provide to families in need with the biggest smiles this holiday season, come out and donate to the Zipper Junction Toy Drive!
