Environmental Club Mother’s Day Plant Sale

By: Kody Hanor

The WAHS Environmental Club held its annual plant sale fundraiser the Thursday and Friday before Mother’s Day. The sale took place during all lunch periods and in Mrs. Bartholomew’s classroom. Students and staff stopped by purchasing a variety of flowers and plants while supporting an important cause.

The plant sale serves as the club’s biggest annual fundraiser, helping members raise money for educational trips and community service projects throughout the year. Members of the Environmental Club organized and promoted the entire event. All in just one week, students worked together to buy, pot, prepare, and sell the plants.

The event not only gave students hands-on experience in teamwork and organization skills but also encouraged the school community to support local environmental efforts. Club members dedicated countless hours of their time preparing for the sale and ensuring that it ran smoothly.

This year, all remaining plants were donated to Dr. Baton’s class, where students planted them in the decorative pots outside of the school. The donation helped brighten the high school campus and ensured that none of the plants went to waste.

The Environmental Club greatly appreciates and thanks to everyone who purchased plants or helped spread the word on the fundraiser. Their support helps the club continue making a positive impact both inside and outside of the school community.
