3.     Americans eat enough hot dogs during Independence Day to stretch from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles five times over! That’s a lot of franks!

4.     Summer is prime time for fireflies! Their bioluminescent glow is a result of a chemical reaction in their abdomens.

5.     Did you know some plants actually grow faster at night? Take advantage of those long summer evenings for some late-night gardening.

6.     The Eiffel Tower can actually grow up to 15 cm taller in the summer due to thermal expansion!
