With a roster of 30 members this season, Wallenpaupack’s Unified Track and Field team has been practicing and preparing for another competitive year. Unified track is different from traditional track and field because it brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities, competing side by side as teammates. The focus goes beyond competition, emphasizing inclusion, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Last season proved just how powerful that combination can be. Despite barely making the cutoff at regionals, Wallenpaupack surged ahead at the state meet and earned an impressive second-place finish. That momentum has been carried into this year, with athletes and coaches hopeful they can build on that success.

With a mix of returning competitors and new faces, the team is hopeful to get far in the season. Their season officially begins with a home meet on April 8, where they are expected to face Delaware Valley and Mid Valley. As their first meet draws closer, Wallenpaupack’s Unified team is ready to once again prove what they can accomplish together.
