People need a friend who can make them laugh and have an enjoyable time, no matter where they are. Teagan Henkels, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is a prime example of this. Teagan is known for her kindness, creativity, and optimistic attitude by her classmates. Teagan has been a part of the school district since she was a young girl and has grown up with the community.
Since kindergarten, Teagan has been a part of her local Girl Scouts troop, where she learned how to engage more with her peers, helping her move forward into her current high school clubs. Teagan has been a part of VIP, Volunteers in Paupack, and FCCLA, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, since her sophomore year, “I learned how to engage in my community more,” She spoke.
She has also been involved with the school yearbook since her sophomore year.
With the help of VIP and FCCLA, Teagan discovered that she wants to help children. Teagan recently committed to Bloomsburg University, and she plans to major in social work. However, she currently plans to become an art therapist in the future. If she does not become an art therapist, she will do either counseling or be a social worker, so she can continue to help others.
Teagan has a lot of memories, in and out of school. Outside of school, she enjoys hanging out with her friends. Inside of school, she favors the Disney trip that the class of 2026 took in November, where she got to hang out with friends and take a break from school.
Teagan has many people who she would like to thank throughout her school career but has a few specific ones she would extremely thank. Her first thank you would go to Mr. Miller, the seventh-grade English teacher at the middle school. “I would like to thank him for getting me into reading,” She stated. Teagan specifically remembers the Divergent book series that they read in class, which helped her gain a stronger interest in literature. Her other thanks would go to Mr. Brown, who helped her understand and enjoy Geometry to another level. Her last thanks go to Dr. Schmalzle, “It was a safe space in her room,” Teagan said.
We wish Teagan the best of luck.
