On Tuesday, February 3 and Thursday, February 5, our eighth graders visited the high school to explore what’s available to them next year. They started with a building tour, stopping by Career Technical Education programs and other course options. Student ambassadors led small groups to each classroom, where teachers and current students shared information. The groups visited Childcare, Protective Services, Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine, Engineering, Automotive, and Building Trades CTE programs.

Pictured above, you can see members of the childcare CTE presenting to students. The 8th graders also toured visual arts, aviation, conservation and environment, business/computer science, and video production classrooms. At the end, our performing arts students gave a preview of the spring musical, Into the Woods. In the coming weeks, the class of 2030 will be creating schedules for their first year of high school. This event provided an opportunity for students to learn about the many opportunities and pathways available at WAHS.
