(Left to right) Scranton’s Cap of Fames Liam Magee and Reagan Anderson
By: Reagan Anderson
On January 27, the swim team was scheduled to travel to West Scranton for their meet. Due to the snow day, that meet has been rescheduled to February 12. The team still had a meet this past week instead against Scranton High School on January 30. The team dominated with boys winning by a score of 113-46 and the girls by a score of 129-25. The caps of fame for this meet were Reagan Anderson and Liam Magee. Liam was able to achieve his goal and drop his 50 free time to less than 30 seconds. Reagan placed first in two individual events which were the 100 free and the 100 back. She was also a part of the 400 free relay which also placed first.
This meet was the last before the team’s Senior Night. The week of the Senior Night meet, underclassmen buy gifts for their specific senior. These gifts are given to the seniors throughout the week, with everyday representing a different favorite item. These favorite items could be drinks, snacks, games, etc. This is a tradition that is done to show appreciation for swimmers who have guided the team with their leadership and to give seniors a goodbye as they make their way into the next chapter of their life. The senior night meet is on February 4 at Pocono Mountain East. Come out and support your swim seniors!
