The Wallenpaupack girl’s wrestling team recently competed against Abington Heights and Western Wayne, showing up with high energy and full of anticipation. They came out victorious in both matches, with Gia Silva earning her 50th career win.
Gia Silva has been a part of the girls’ wrestling team since the program started and has been one of the hardest workers in the room. She is described by her teammates as tough, determined, and unrelenting no matter who she’s facing. Gia’s reaching that milestone was a big moment for not only her but the team as well, proving how much effort she’s put in throughout her wrestling career.
Throughout the winter season, the girls have been doing extremely well, with intense practices paying off during matches. Their team’s chemistry is phenomenal, and all the girls are pushing each other to be better. Their coach, Mr. Stephen Peters, is proud of their improvement since the beginning of the season.
