Picture shown- the Thanksgiving boxes
By Bethany Day
The Food Pantry just finished its biggest event of the year. On Wednesday, November 19, the Volunteers in Paupack, VIP, helped the food pantry by giving out the Thanksgiving food boxes at the Wallenpaupack Area High School. For the past eight years, Mrs. Martynuk, the head of food pantry, and VIP come together and make thanksgiving boxes for local families in need. The pantry starts making the boxes around September and gather fresh food over the months for the event.
The boxes provide thanksgiving food and treats, and each donation has a personal note. The volunteers hand out the boxes from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday. The food pantry helps the community by doing multiple other events and also makes food boxes for Christmas and Easter. The community and Paupack Press would like to thank the food pantry for donating food to those in need and wishes everyone a happy holiday.
