On Thursday October 15, the Wallenpaupack Girls Tennis team’s top two doubles teams played in the District Two Doubles tournament at Wilkes University and King’s College in Wilkes Barre. Victoria Latek played with Adelyn Ezzo and Samira Feller partnered with Abby Cykosky. Samira and Abby played their first match against Crestwood winning the match by a score of 6-4 6-2. Their second match was against North Pocono, losing by a score of 3-6 3-6.
Victoria and Addy played their first match against Valley View, moving to the quarterfinals by a winning score of 6-0; 6-0. They won their next match against West Scranton in three sets and a final score of 6-2; 1-6; 7-6 (tiebreaker:8-6). They continued to the semifinals on Friday, October 16, against Abington. They lost the semifinals to Abington in long sets2 hours and 38 minutes) by a final score of 5-7, 6-2, 5-7. The girls came third overall in the Triple A district doubles tournament.
