Here’s a short list of some Christmas classics I love to watch every year. With our break being longer than usual this year, you may have a lot more free time in the house. So, make some cocoa, find that fuzzy blanket and turn on the TV for some holiday fun.
1. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer- This movie tells the story of how Rudolph came to be Santa’s head reindeer. I love the songs and the stories of the misfit toys. If you are looking for a classic, this 1964 film is for you.
2. Santa Claus is Coming to Town- This is another oldie but a goodie, coming out in 1970. A mailman tells us how Santa came to be. This movie is short but heartwarming.
3. Jingle All the Way- With Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead man, we see the story of a father trying to redeem himself to his family. He goes through great lengths to get his son the toy that he wants when he finds that it is sold out everywhere. It is a funny, and endearing movie that’s worth the watch.
4. Home Alone- Personally, Home Alone is my favorite holiday movie. A child is left home alone by mistake when his family leaves for a Christmas vacation. While managing to keep things smooth, he must think quick to outsmart robbers trying to break into his family’s home. If you are looking for a good laugh, this is the holiday film for you.
5. Polar Express- Everyone has probably watched this animated movie in elementary school, but it still is a great movie to watch over the holidays. A young boy takes a trip to Santa’s workshop on a train called the Polar Express. It has great songs and filled with the Christmas spirit.
