Turkey Trot

Wallenpaupack’s annual Turkey Trot, initiated about four years ago by former student council advisors, has become an anticipated event to start the Thanksgiving break. With the support of student council members and Volunteers in Paupack (VIP), the event is organized to offer students a fun range of activities before the Thanksgiving break.

Typically held on the Wednesday before the holiday, this year it is on November 27.  The Turkey Trot welcomes all students to participate. The event features sign-ups for flag football, the turkey trot (a walk/run), and a donut-eating contest.

Participation requires the purchase of a $15 T-shirt. The proceeds are donated to the school for groups such as the food pantry, adding a charitable aspect to the festivities. Along with the donation, those interested are asked to sign up outside room 250 for the specific event(s) they wanted to take part in.

Overall, the Turkey Trot provides students with the opportunity to partake in festivities to celebrate Thanksgiving in advance with their peers and friends.
