Addison Kilpatrick, a senior at WAHS, is the embodiment of dedication and resilience. She actively takes part in several clubs including FCCLA (where she serves on the executive council), the Local History Club, and SADD club.

Among these, FCCLA is Addison’s favorite because of the volunteering opportunities which she enjoys, and the supportive mentors who help bring her ideas to life. The flexibility of FCCLA is particularly beneficial for Addison, as it allows her to juggle her responsibilities with other school programs, such as music and theater, and her work outside of school.

Addison plans to start her college classes in the spring and attend nursing school next fall. She wants to earn her associate’s degree in nursing (ASN) and become a registered nurse. Afterwards, she also would like to gain a certification in forensic nursing. Inspired by her mother, a dedicated nurse, and her own extensive medical experiences, Addison is passionate about providing compassionate care to patients. She understands firsthand the difference a good nurse can make and is determined to be one for others.

Despite facing significant personal challenges, especially during her freshman year, Addison takes immense pride in her academic achievements. Maintaining grades in the 90’s and above in her AP and honors classes despite frequent absences due to health issues, she has remained very persevering and hardworking.

During her high school career, Addison has made many fond memories. However, her favorites stem from the band and choir. She values the friendships she made through the groups, the fun moments, and the trips to places like Canada and Italy. Addison also cherishes the help from the program’s inspiring teachers who have helped her grow as an individual and musician.

In the long term, Addison dreams of a simple yet fulfilling life. She hopes to get married, establish a flourishing nursing career, live in a location she loves, surrounded by her animals, and be surrounded by a family of her own.

Overall, Addison could be remembered as somebody who never gives up, defied limitations, was always there for others, and someone who could be depended on. Despite her many ups and downs both medically and mentally, Addison’s story is one of determination and she hopes to inspire others to chase after whatever their heart is set on. Even if she knows it isn’t always easy, she believes with hard work people can do almost anything.
