Get ready to immerse yourself in mental health information with Aevidum on May 9. Aevidum will be hosting a mental health fair during third block for anyone who wants to learn a bit more. The list of activities offered at this event is extensive, including tables of information which will be hosted by both students and mental health organizations (such as Wayne County Mental Health, Pike County Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Commission, etc.), games to win prizes, a therapy dog, a fundraiser for Aevidum, and even a couple tables run by other clubs! Aevidum’s goal is to normalize mental health, and this is one of the steps they are taking to start this long process.
Along with the mental health fair, there will also be a week of dress-up days, which includes wearing green for mental health awareness (May 6), tie-dye to support all mental health awarenesses (May 7), black and white or dressing like an “Inside Out” character for bipolar awareness (May 8), neon colors to “stimulate energy” in mental health (May 9), and yellow or kindness t-shirts for Kindness Day (May 10). There is lots to remember for the upcoming week, so pay attention the calendar! This isn’t meant to be a random informational dump or a normal spirit week; this is just one of the many ways that Aevidum plans on showing to the school that they have our backs. Mental health is not something to shy away from, and that is the point of May 9: to talk about mental health and show everyone that you’re not alone. There will be something for everyone, so feel free to stop by the auxiliary gym on May 9 for some information and entertainment!
