The WAHS Players will be performing their spring musical Into the Woods this weekend (April 9-12). The event will take place in the high school auditorium with performances on Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7pm and on Sunday at 2 pm. In addition to these performances the group will also perform a short preview during third block on Friday for the high school.
The production features almost 60 students, including 19 seniors, across the cast, crew, and pit. The group has been rehearsing since the beginning of January to bring this production to life.
The show brings to life many magical fairytales including Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood. All these stories will intertwine when each character pursues their wishes. While the first act features a cheerier and happier conclusion, the second act, reflecting the consequences of getting all you wish, is darker. Families with younger children might want to research the show to make a decision on whether the second act is right for their younger ones.
The WAHS Players have put in hours of work to bring this musical to life and can’t wait to share their production with our community.
