As the weather starts to get warmer, the boys’ tennis season is back in full swing. The team’s starting lineup features a mix of new and returning athletes, ready to gain more experience on the court. Leading the team at first singles is freshman James Busso, who has been playing tennis since seventh grade. At second singles is senior Jasper Hathaway, who is competing in his first year of tennis. Playing in first doubles are returning players Maxwell Bell and Cayden Marchesin. Kimar Horsford and Myles Mann compete in second doubles. Kimar, a junior, is new to the team, while Myles, a sophomore, returns with prior experience.
On March 18, the team traveled to Scranton Prep for their first match of the season. Although Wallenpaupack lost 0-5, the boys gained valuable experience for future matches. James Busso was defeated 0-6 and 1-6. Jasper Hathaway lost his match at 0-6, 0-6. Maxwell Bell and Cayden Marchesin battled but ultimately lost 2-6 and 6-7 in a competitive match. Myles Mann and Kimar Horsford also faced a tough opponent, ending with 0-6, and 1-6.
