With graduation fast approaching, Diego Adames is reflecting on his years at Wallenpaupack with gratitude and appreciation for everyone who has gotten him to where he is today.
Diego is an active member of his community, as a member of the basketball team, Student Ambassadors, and he was a coach and referee for the Boy’s Biddy Basketball program. Each of these experiences has helped to influence the person that he is today and will continue to grow to be. His involvement in the Student Ambassadors has motivated him to strive for excellence academically and continue to be a role model for his peers. Through basketball, Diego has proven his determination as an athlete, while strengthening his sense of teamwork and leadership. Diego always wondered what it would be like to be in the shoes of the basketball coaches and the referees. Through the Biddy Basketball program, he was able to gain that leadership experience, and he loved every second of it.
When Diego isn’t volunteering or participating in many activities, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, working out, and learning how to play golf.
Once Diego graduates, he plans to attend Penn State University to study Hospitality Management to one day peruse a career in the hotel industry as a General Manager. He would like to thank Mr. Miller for teaching him how to be not just a better basketball player, but also an overall better person. He would also like to thank his mom, his brother, and his cousin for being his inspiration and teaching him valuable lessons that he will take far into his future.
As Diego looks ahead to his graduation, he reflects on these years and the people who have helped him along the way with thankfulness. Whether in school or on the court, Diego has made a lasting impact on those around him and is ready to take the lessons he has learned with him in the future.
