Leadership is a key that many tend to have or later discover in themselves. However, a person who shows true leadership is Kaitlin Williams, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School. Kaitlin is known for her kindness, empathy, and leadership. Since the eighth grade, Kaitlin has shown true leadership wherever she is, especially in her clubs and activities. Kaitlin takes part in many school events and activities. She has been a part of the basketball team for four years, and she has managed the boys’ soccer team her senior year. Outside of sports, she did Mini-Thon her junior year, and she coaches a biddy girls’ basketball team.

However, her biggest achievements come from FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, where she has been involved since her sophomore year. FBLA is where Kaitlin began to really grow into her true self. FBLA has taught her many lessons, such as people skills, how to present herself professionally, and how to be at her best with public speaking. Concurretly, she added, “It taught me on how to be a good leader and helping people.”

Kaitlin was chosen to become the chapter president two years ago, and the past chapter year she was picked as the Regional Co-Vice President.

Kaitlin plans to go to Clemson University, where she plans to major in Business Management. After college, Kaitlin wants to stay connected to sports. She wants to work in Sports Management or Sports Administration. Her back up plan is her working in regular Business Management. “I would want to have a no kill animal shelter for dogs and other animals,” Kaitlin stated.

Kaitlin has many memories, but many of them came from FBLA. Her chapter officers and the State Leadership Workshop are her favorites. “Just being with everyone and hanging out, going to the water park and everything is the best.” She said.

Kaitlin has many people she would love to thank but has a specific few that she really appreciates. She thanks Mrs. Monty and Mr. Winagle, her chapter officers, Mrs.Rowe, Mrs. Gilson, Mr. Granquist, and Mr. McGinnis. We wish Kaitlin the best of luck in her future, and we thank her for everything she does.
