Sleep is not just about rest; it is also about giving your body, skin, and hair the care they need. Here are some things to improve your sleep hygiene while staying well rested:
• Use a silk or satin pillowcase: These materials reduce friction on your hair and skin, preventing breakage, frizz, and sleep lines.
• Keep your hair protected: Loose braids or silk hair wraps can prevent tangles and split ends overnight.
• Moisturize before bed: Night creams, body lotions, or oils help lock in hydration while you sleep.
• Wash your face at night: Removing makeup and impurities helps prevent breakouts and dull skin.
• Keep your bedroom cool and dark: A comfortable temperature and minimal light help your skin repair and regenerate overnight.
• Avoid heavy fragrances or harsh products before bed: They can irritate skin or trigger breakouts.
• Stay hydrated: Drink water earlier in the evening so your skin and body stay nourished but avoid too much right before bed.
