As Valentine’s Day approaches, it is important to remember love goes beyond romantic relationships. Ancient Greeks had eight words for the different types of love:
· Storge – familial love
· Agape – selfless love for a community
· Philautia – self love
· Pragma – long-lasting love (usually for spouses)
· Ludus – playful & casual love
· Philia – platonic love
· Eros – romantic love and/or lust
· Mania – obsessive love
Even if you don’t have a partner to celebrate Valentine’s Day with this year, there’s plenty of love in the air for you too!
