Engineering is a craft that many want to pursue. Salvatore “Sal” Amitrano, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, discovered the craft when he was a young student. Sal has been a part of the Engineering CTE since his freshmen year. “I have always been interested in building and designing things,” Sal said when asked about why he joined that specific program. He also stated that his dad helped his interest in technology when he bought a computer for the house when he was younger.
Sal participated in two competitions during his school years. His first was the Wilkes University competition in his junior year, and the second event was at Wallenpaupack also during his junior year, where he got the opportunity to build and design ideas with his classmates.
Sal plans to work in mechanical engineering when he graduates from college, due to his love of designing and building machines. “Even if you think you are not good enough for one field, you can be good for another. The CTE is such a good program.” Sal comments.
We wish Sal the best of luck after high school and cannot wait to see the Engineering program grow.
