On January 22nd, Wallenpaupack’s bocce teams played their first home meet of the year against Delaware Valley and Dunmore. The purple team’s first match was against Delaware Valley’s first team. After a long struggle, the team ended up with an unfortunate loss of 5-1. Meanwhile, the white team played their first game against Delaware Valley’s second team. Despite a close game, Wallenpaupack came out on top and beat DV 6-4.
The purple team’s next game against DV’s second team went a lot better than their first. The team was able to maintain a successful start and finished the game with a win of 6 to 3. During this, the white team went against Delaware Valley’s first team. Just like their first match, the team won the game 6-2.
For their final matches, each team played Dunmore’s singular team. The purple team played a fantastic game and beat Dunmore with a score of 8-3. Sadly, the white team did not have the same success with beating Dunmore’s team and lost 14-2. However, each team is proud to have won two out of three matches. With only a few more meets before regionals, both of Wallenpaupack’s teams are hopeful of making it to the regional championship meet.
