Alayna Atos recently achieved 50 wins. Her coach, Stephen Peters, described the team as a family and is grateful to be a part of it, emphasizing that Alayna’s dedication and determination set her apart from the others. Despite facing a rough patch at the beginning of the season because of an injury, she pushed through and worked hard every day to the point of tears. The team agrees that they wouldn’t be the same without Alayna.

This past Saturday, the Wallenpaupack girl’s wrestling team participated in the Coal Cracker Tournament in Jim Thorpe. The team showed determination and furthered the strong bond that defines them as teammates. The team shared laughs, tears, and blood, creating unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Many of the girls were victorious. After returning from a broken collarbone, Gia Silva dominated, placing sixth at 112 pounds. In her first match back after a couple of weeks, she pinned her opponent in just 30 seconds. Lillian Schock also placed sixth at 148 pounds. Lillian is impressively ranked 15th in the state for her weight class. Mya Statile placed eighth at 170 pounds. Alayna competed at 130 pounds, going 2-2.

The team would also like to recognize Rosa San Clementi and Charlotte Fetherman. Rosa has shown persistence and hard work every day. She is known never to stop moving with unwavering stamina. Charlotte Fetherman finally stepped back onto the mat after an eight-month absence.

Through injuries, strong dedication, and hard-fought matches, the Wallenpaupack girls wrestling team proves that determination and teamwork are promising future achievements.
