Despite the snowy weather and holiday break, the swim team didn’t stop working. From 7:30 am practices to at home workouts, the team didn’t stop improving over the break. This showed for many swimmers at the team’s most recent meet against Delaware Valley. Though as a team neither the boys nor the girls came out with a win, many swimmers such as Emma Waszczak, in the 500 freestyle, dropped time. The final score for boys was 128-53 and 111-69 for the girls.
On the swim team, at the end of each meet the coaches recognize swimmers who stood out or were very team oriented that day. This recognition is known as Cap of Fame. When a swimmer earns the Cap of Fame, he or she is not only featured on the team’s social media, but he or she also gets a swim cap that has a crown on it. This cap is for the swimmers to wear that whole week in recognition of their hard work. This week’s Cap of Fames were seniors Alexa Laing and Lucas Nilsen.
