As finals are coming up, it’s important to reduce stress when you can! For both students and teachers, the end of the semester can be a lot to deal with. Here are some self-care ideas to remind everyone it’s important to take time for yourself too:
· Read a book/magazine/newspaper – it’s a good way to slow yourself down and engage your mind.
· Watch your favorite movie/tv-show
· Spend time with friends – it’s easy to forget about having fun when you’re stressed about school.
· Take a bath/shower – playing some music and adding bath bombs, shower steamers, etc., can create a relaxing atmosphere.
· Do skin care – doing a face mask won’t stop you from anything you need to, and it’s fun!
· Clean your room – not everyone enjoys cleaning like I do, but having a clean space can make you feel better. It’s a productive way to keep your mind focused on something else.
· Play the New York Times games – it’s a quick break for something fun.
· Go outside – whether it’s to go on a walk/run, going ice fishing, skiing/snowboarding, or anything else, being outside is a great way to clear your head.
Of course, there’s many options, but the most important part of any of this is to remember to relax sometimes. It’s easy to get caught up in all the chaos, but it is important to take care of yourself too. Students, good luck on finals, and teachers, thank you for helping the end of the semester go as smoothly as possible!
