Wallenpaupack administration was forced to make some important changes this week following Dr. Caruso’s departure. This move opened up the position of high school principal. Superintendent and assistant superintendent Dr. Gunuskey and Dr. Starnes met with every administrator in the district to outline their unique goals for their careers in order to select the person best fit for this position. After days of deliberation, they came to a decision that was announced at the Monday night board meeting. The position of high school principal was given to Mr. Ey. Mr. Buselli will be taking Mr. Ey’s position as high school assistant principal and athletic director, and Mrs. Gross will be taking Mr. Buselli’s position as the middle school assistant principal and assistant athletic director.

Dr. Gunuskey comments that he is excited to see all of the new ideas and methods that each of these administrators are bringing to their schools and the district. Their mindset of constant improvement is one of the things that sets Wallenpaupack apart from other districts. Dr. Gunuskey’s plan for these changes was to “get everyone on the right seat of the bus.” In other words, put every administrator where they are supposed to be at the right time.

These changes mark an exciting time for our district with new ideas, strong leadership, and a shared determination to grow. With the promise of so much change and opportunity before us, Dr. Gunuskey describes this time as “the greatest time to be a Buckhorn,” and we couldn’t agree more!
