Madyson Steuhl

By: Sophia Braida

Madyson Steuhl, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is known for her welcoming nature and sense of humor. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her sisters, friends, and family, or relaxing by coloring and listening to different kinds of music.

Throughout her time in high school, one of Madyson’s most influential experiences has been her involvement in Volunteers in Paupack (VIP). Joining the club as a freshman, she quickly discovered a place where she could connect with others and build her confidence. Over the years, VIP has shaped her into a stronger, more outgoing person. She started as a general member, later became secretary during her sophomore and junior years, and this year proudly serves as vice president; a role she considers one of her biggest accomplishments.

Madyson has always had a vague interest in teaching, but it wasn’t until she joined the childcare program during her freshman year, and later the Education of Exceptional Children class, that she realized just how much she loved working with younger kids. Her top college choice is Marywood University, where she plans to major in Early Childhood Education, and she eventually hopes to become a kindergarten teacher.

Public speaking was one of Madyson’s biggest challenges when she first started high school. However, with encouragement from her freshman-year teacher, Mr. Krush, and the support of those in VIP, she gained the confidence to express herself more openly. Now, she feels proud of how far she has come, both as a student and as a person.

As she looks toward the future, Madyson’s main goal is to be accepted into a college that aligns with her values and goals. Beyond that, she hopes to build a fulfilling life, graduating college, securing a teaching position, and eventually starting a family of her own. She envisions a peaceful and comfortable life surrounded by loved ones and kids of her own.

When Madyson’s senior year comes to an end, she hopes that when her classmates and teachers look back on their time with her, they’ll remember her for her humor, kindness, and genuine care for others.
