The Final Countdown for the Buckhorns cross country team has officially started. On Wednesday, October 14, the Buckhorns traveled to Mcdade Park for their last official race of the season. The group was up against a good cluster that contained Riverside, Dunmore, and Old Forge. With them racing at the course last week, the runners knew the course, and they felt confident about how they were going to race.
To the majority of the team, this was their last race of the season, or career to most seniors, and showed pride as they raced for the last time. The boys won against Dunmore and Old Forge, 15 to 50, but sadly lost against Riverside by a score of 34 to 23. The girls swept all three teams, with them having a score of 15 to 50.
The team will show its true strength when it goes to Districts on Wednesday, October 22. The top seven runners will be racing at Districts, and they will go up against multiple other teams to fight for a spot at the State Championships. We wish the Buckhorns the best of luck.
