Alison Guo, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is known for her thoughtful nature and love for science. When she’s not focused on school or working, she enjoys spending her free time with friends, whether that means catching a movie, going out to eat, or just relaxing and talking. These moments of downtime are especially important to her, offering a break from a busy schedule and a chance to connect with people she cares about.

At school, Alison has been actively involved in several clubs throughout her high school career. She is currently the treasurer of Volunteers in Paupack (VIP), a club she’s been a part of for three years, and the one that stands out as her favorite. She enjoys spending time helping others with her friends during VIP events, finding both purpose and community through the work they do. This year, she also joined the General Council, and in past years, she participated in SADD and Leadership and Diversity for two years each. Through these groups, Alison has gained valuable experience working with others and contributing to her school community.

Science has always been one of Alison’s favorite subjects; she specifically enjoys biology and chemistry. She credits the inspiring science teachers at Wallenpaupack for sparking and strengthening her interest. Their passion for their respective classes made learning more engaging and deepened her curiosity about how things work the way they do. That interest has led Alison to set her sights on studying chemical engineering after graduation. She plans to attend a four-year university to earn her bachelor’s degree or possibly complete an accelerated program that would allow her to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in five years. Her goal is to work in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry, where she can apply her scientific knowledge in creative and purposeful ways.

Alison is especially proud of the consistent effort she’s put into her academics over the past four years. She has always strived to maintain strong grades, balance her responsibilities, and stay focused on her goals. As she wraps up her senior year, she hopes to finish academically strong, get into college and make the most of her final year of high school.

Looking ahead, Alison is excited for what the future holds and is confident her hard work and passion will guide her towards success.
