On April 22, the student council held a seed sale as a fundraiser for the Delaware Highlands Conservancy in honor of Earth Day. The students sold seed packets for two dollars during all lunches, and in total they raised approximately $150 for a donation. The idea originally came about in March when the student council began thinking about Earth Day. They needed ideas, so the students thought that for Earth Day, they would do something that would give back to an organization in our community dedicated to protecting the Earth. The conservancy is dedicated to protecting our communities’ lands for sustainability and resiliency, so it was a perfect candidate. The seeds were later added to tie in earth day, as well as adding a little more green into the community. Overall, the fundraiser was a success, and the students will be meeting with an executive from the conservancy to present the donation.
