Henry Reichman after a 1st place finish in the individual testing event of the 2025 Marywood Math Competition
By: Sutton Rizzo
Three of our Wallenpaupack students went to Marywood University for a math competition on April 4th. The competition was grouped by grade level, as ninth and tenth graders were Level Ones, and eleventh and twelfth graders were Level Two. The group of Wallenpaupack boys consisted of two sophomores, Gabe Racine and Henry Reichman, while consisting of one freshman, Sutton Rizzo.
The team began the morning with an individual, 50 question test, which contained topics learned during the variety of math courses taught in our high school. That was only the start of a great day for the team, as Henry Reichman placed first in the individual competition.
The boys then ate lunch and got into the afternoon part of the competition, which consisted of a team relay race. The team raced against the clock and was able to solve the problems and win the competition. This event was an overall a success for the boys to be able to use problem solving and work in a team to complete problems.
