The varsity girls’ record is now 5-4. In these past two weeks, the girls have faced five teams. On April 14, they started off with Abington Heights. They took a loss with a score of 4-0. Though it was a tough loss, they held Abington scoreless until the bottom of the 6th inning. Next, the girls faced up against Valley View. Valley View came out on top with a score of 8-2. The next day, April 17, the girls traveled to Minisink Valley and took a loss with a score of 4-2. The 4th loss of the girl’s season was Scranton Prep who rallied back in the bottom of the 6th inning and scored 5 runs to win the game.

To end a 4-game losing streak, the girls took down West Scranton by a score of 9-3. A standout on offense and defense was Clara Babyak. In the top of the 3rd inning, Clara hit a long drive down the left field line that left the ballpark. She also held West Scranton to only four hits. Though the girls were on a four-game losing streak, after coming out on top against West Scranton they hope to only improve their game moving forward.

On JV, the girls have been on a winning streak winning the last 3 games they have played. They first took down Minisink Valley with a score of 14-4. Next, they faced Valley View and came out on top with a score of 8-7. Hannah Diadone walked it of for the team with a 2-run home run. On April 24, they went up against Scranton Prep and run-ruled the team by a score of 21-1. On April 29, the girls won 17-2 against Scranton.
