WAHS FCCLA Shines at State Leadership Conference in Pittsburgh

 Wallenpaupack Area High School’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter proudly represented their school at the 2025 FCCLA State Leadership Conference at the Seven Springs Resort, held from Monday, March 31st through Wednesday, April 2nd. Students participated in a variety of leadership workshops, explored impactful community service initiatives, and competed in several state-level events alongside peers from across Pennsylvania.

During the three-day conference, WAHS FCCLA members put their skills to the test in the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Events, showcasing their hard work in categories such as Teaching Strategies, Baking & Pastry, Career Investigation, Sustainability, Sports Nutrition, and Professional Presentation.

The chapter brought home an impressive list of awards, with several students qualifying for the national competition:

– Gold Medalist & National Qualifier – Professional Presentation: Jewel Dickerman 

– Gold Medalists & National Qualifiers – Sustainability Challenge: Laila Golshirazi, Emily Jensen, and Vivian Yetter 

– Gold Medalist & National Qualifier – Sports Nutrition: Soleil Wright 

– Silver Medalist & National Qualifier – Teach and Train: Nina Duprey 

– Silver Medalist & National Qualifier – Repurpose & Redesign: Addison Kilpatrick 

– Silver Medalist – Teaching Strategies: Mackenzie Razny 

– Silver Medalist – Leadership: Maya Walek 

– Bronze Medalist – Baking & Pastry: Sherry Aliotta 

– Bronze Medalist – Career Investigation: Tati Campbell-Algermon 

Beyond competitions, students took part in leadership development sessions, gained insight into service-learning projects, and connected with like-minded youth leaders from across the state—further strengthening their roles in school and community life.

FCCLA, founded in 1945, is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that helps youth become leaders by focusing on family, career, and community involvement through Family & Consumer Sciences education. With a unique emphasis on the family as its core, FCCLA continues to empower students to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

WAHS FCCLA’s outstanding achievements at the state conference reflect the chapter’s ongoing commitment to leadership, excellence, and positive impact—both within their school and far beyond.
