The Triathlon is a yearly event hosted by Wallenpaupack Area High School that encourages 9th -12th graders to participate in running, biking, and boating races. The event will be held at Promise Land State Park on Friday, May 30. All teams must be finalized, and all permission slips must be submitted by Thursday, April 17th. Ninth and tenth graders will compete against each other, and eleventh and twelfth graders compete against each other. The qualification for each event is, runners must run two miles in 16:30 (boys) and 17:30 (girls). For kayaking or canoeing it is to demonstrate strength and control for a mile. Bikers must either complete the PE biking unit or they must complete two laps around the high school, as well as being able to put the bike chain back on. Students who previously qualified for boating or biking are automatically eligible for this year.
