This past week, the varsity girls put on a show against West Scranton and Scranton. On Wednesday, they took down West Scranton by a score of 10-4. The girls played strong defense turning 2 double plays. (The double play pictured above closed out the game). Gabrielle Hieber was strong in the circle, striking out 10 hitters. Allie Sterner was a leader on offense collecting 3 hits in 4 at bats.
On Thursday, the girls traveled to Scranton High School to take home the win by a score of 17-0. Madison Haynes led the offense collecting 4 singles in her 4 at bats. The girls went home satisfied after only playing 4 innings against Scranton. The JV team also had a successful week beating West Scranton on Thursday by a score of 10-0. The JV game against Scranton last Saturday was postponed due to the weather. The new game date is yet to be announced. Both varsity and JV are going to face some tough competition in the upcoming weeks and are hoping to come out on top.
