The boys wrestling team was fresh off an extremely successful District 2 tournament where eight wrestlers placed in the top three, and the team placed first overall. The wrestlers who placed in the top three at districts got the opportunity to wrestle in the regional tournament in Bethlehem. The wrestlers who qualified and their places were: Giovanni Lomonaco 1st, Tristan Braxton 2nd, Gabriel Caufield 2nd, Conan Kier 2nd, Ayden Blaut 3rd, Nicholas Skokos 3rd, Thomas Toth 3rd, and Xaiden Schock 3rd.
Regionals were not quite as successful as districts were, but it was still a great showing for the team. They came in twelfth place out of forty-seven, and both Conan Kier and Gabriel Caufield placed sixth. Unfortunately, this left them both one spot shy of the state tournament. Nearly everyone on the team saw a victory during the day though they were not coming as close to states. Overall, our wrestlers completed a terrific season with milestones like winning the district championship for the first time as well as getting Coach Krushnowski more than 300 wins during his 25-year coaching career. The team will certainly miss the leadership from their seasoned seniors, but there is a bright future ahead for the wrestling team.
