On January 10, Future Business Leaders of America, (FBLA) group traveled to the University of Scranton. They took part in the RCL, Regional Leadership Conference, where they competed against fifteen other schools in the presentation event. The University of Scranton hosted the event and the Wallenpaupack students got to stay on campus all day and were also able to see their results the same day. At the culminating ceremony, Kaitlin Williams was elected to be the regions new Vice President for the next upcoming chapter season.

Many members will be attending the State Leadership conference in April, which will be at Hershey. The members attending will be Katie Pettinato and Lillian Williams, who placed first in Graphic Design. Alexis Blaszcyk, Annie Guo, and Juliana Lofberg placed first in Social Media Strategies; JJ Blaum and Colby Bonagura who also placed first in Sports and Entertainment Management, and Kaitlin Williams getting first in Visual Design. The second-place finishers were Darby Brennan and Hannah Stratton, who took part in Broadcast Journalism. Tyler Meyers placed second in Journalism, and Landon Shanaberger got second in Sales Presentation. Manny Caufield placed fourth in Financial Math, along with Max Edward’s also placing fourth in Intro to Business. Ben Cumberland and Greg Nalesnik got fifth for Intro to Event Planning.

FBLA has many presentations and testing events in a variety of topics. There are three different competition levels, Regionals, State, and Nationals. The group last year had an amazing year as a whole group went to Nationals, with Darby Brennan and Hannah Stratton winning together for Social Media Strategies. We wish the group going States lots of luck!
