The boys had a great 2-0 week! Coming off a tough overtime championship loss two weeks prior to Nazareth, the boys were looking to bounce back, beginning non-league play.
Last Tuesday, Paupack traveled to Forest City (1-3) to take on the Foresters. The game was a blowout, as the Bucks won by a score of 64-18. Nick VanBuskirk took advantage of the size disadvantage, and put up 19 points, and 8 rebounds. This put the Buckhorns back in the win column. The next challenge was with our rivals, the Honesdale Hornets on their floor. It was a crowded, loud, gritty game, though Paupack remained in control throughout. The Bucks shot out and held a big lead early, led by Justin Blanding’s 12 first half points. The Hornets surged in the 4th and cut the lead to 7 with the majority of the quarter left, although it wasn’t enough to overcome the Buckhorns’ lead. Wallenpaupack beat Honesdale 55-45 in a classic county clash.
The boys will play at home on Monday, December 16 against the 2-2 Lakeland Chiefs and then begin divisional play on Wednesday the 18th against the reigning District Two 5A champion, Abington Heights Comets.
