The food pantry has played a huge part in the Wallenpaupack Area School District. The pantry started about seven years ago by Mrs. Martynuk and a few other assistant teachers when they discovered the situation that many of the students in the district were facing. After they started the pantry, it started to become successful, with many students and adults in the community donating toiletries and food to the pantry to help the situation.
The next big fundraiser is on Friday, October 4, at the homecoming football game. The pantry is having a big food drive-through in front of the high school from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. If you want to drop any food or toiletries, you can drive right through and drop them off with VIP and Mrs. Martynuk. If you donate any type of toiletries or food at the front gate of the football stadium, you may get in for free. We love how successful the food drive has been, and we are incredibly grateful for having Mrs. Martynuk continuing the tradition of the food pantry for our school
If students would like to help with the food pantry, including those who need Honor Society community service hours, they can see Mrs. Martynuk in room 242 at any time during the day.
