South Elementary School Principal Mark Kirsten and Wallenpaupack High School Principal Dr. Christopher Caruso were joined by Superintendent Keith Gunuskey, Food Services Director Heather Fedoryk, and key contributors Jewel Dickerman, Carmine and Dana Anolfo, and GeJa Richards. Together, they represented the district as both Wallenpaupack High School and South Elementary School were celebrated for their outstanding efforts.
This initiative, led by Governor Shapiro, is designed to promote healthier meal options and increase breakfast participation in schools across Pennsylvania. Wallenpaupack stood out among 37 schools statewide for its effective breakfast programs, earning a banner, a certificate, a breakfast recipe book, and a special breakfast prepared by the Governor’s Residence chef.
Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of student well-being and commended schools like Wallenpaupack for their dedication. This recognition is a testament to the district’s commitment to fostering healthy eating habits, ensuring students have the nutritious start they need to succeed every day.
