The 2024 spring concert season is underway, and on Wednesday night, May 8, the concert choir, chamber choir, and show choir performed in their annual spring choir concert. The concert choir sang many songs, but some favorites were “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, “Gate Gate”, a song written in Sanskrit, “Fey O!”, written in Haitian Creole, and a song written by Mrs. Neenan, “Sometimes”.
The chamber choir sang four different songs, including Mozart’s “Lacrimosa” and a jazz piece called “Peroxide Swing”.
The show choir performed a medley from the hit Broadway musical Newsies. Jake Vecchio and Evie Neenan also performed a duet for their time at the All-State festival.
The spring band concert is Tuesday, May 21. This concert, beginning at 7:00 pm, will feature performances from the concert band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. The concert band is performing a wide selection of songs, with two of the songs featuring All-State players Angelo Cresta, Zachary Jantzi, and Braeden Caputo.
The wind ensemble is playing four higher level pieces, including Julius Fučík’s “Florentiner March”.
The jazz band will also be performing with styles in jazz, funk, and Latin. If you can, try and stop by on Tuesday, you won’t want to miss it.
